A GROUNDBREAKING new initiative which integrates information on transport availability with the needs of people who have difficulty in getting to and from medical appointments is to be piloted in Grampian. Transport Partnership to Press for Improved Junctions at Key North East Routes

THE north-east’s regional transport partnership is to lobby the national roads agency over what it believes is a strengthened case for safety improvements to two busy north-east trunk roads. Details of the A9 dualling programme released by Transport Scotland include aims to install grade separated junctions on the route between Perth and Inverness. SDPA welcomes Aberdeen City and Shire growth, but highlights continued need for investment

The Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Planning Authority (SDPA) has welcomed the news that Aberdeen City and Shire’s economy was the fastest growing in the UK in 2011. The data, published by the Office for National Statistics, showed an annual growth rate of 6.5% for the area, compared to 1.9% for Scotland as a whole (see tables below). Regional Transport Partnerships Take the Campaign to Europe

Transport Scotland starts work on AWPR

Nestrans is pleased to announce that following on from this weeks ruling from the Supreme Court, Transport Scotland has taken immediate steps to start delivering the long-awaited Aberdeen West Peripheral Route. Consultation on Regional Transport Strategy underway

Nestrans, the regional transport partnership for Aberdeen City and Shire, has launched a main issues report, as the first stage in a refresh of its Regional Transport Strategy (RTS). The original RTS was approved by Government Ministers in 2008 and provides the strategic framework for the development of the north east’s transport network in the period to 2021.
