Local Hauliers open to low emission zones

North east hauliers have said they would accept the introduction of low emission zones within the centre of Aberdeen when the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route is completed. Regional transport partnership Nestrans is inviting bus and coach operators in the area to submit tenders for the continuation of the Dyce Station – Aberdeen Airport shuttle bus link, which has been in operation since December 2008. Since its inception, the route has enjoyed steady growth to its current level of approximately 5,000 passengers per month, an average of 250 trips per day. Roads maintenance again a major priority

In the wake of the recent severe weather conditions, the Board of regional transport partnership Nestrans has agreed to allocate more than a million pounds of funds for the second year in succession to enable desperately required strategic roads maintenance to be undertaken throughout Aberdeen City and Shire.
