Two agreements aimed at making improvements to bus services in the North-east will be signed today [Thursday 15 March]. The members of the existing Quality Partnership Agreement, which includes Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Nestrans, Stagecoach Bluebird and First Aberdeen, have agreed to update the Quality Partnership Agreement which was last signed in 2005. West Cults Bridge, Formal Opening

A NEW footbridge providing improved continuity along Aberdeen’s historic Deeside Way was officially opened on 10 March 2010. Regional transport body Nestrans has invested £170,000 into the new bridge, which crosses over West Cults Road and has been designed and delivered by Aberdeen City Council. The Deeside Way is a regional facility for travel and recreation by residents and visitors and average usage levels of over 500 pedestrians and 200 cyclists per day have been recorded by the monitor at the eastern end of the route. The inaugural Nestrans Freight Forum, which took place this week in Aberdeen, was voted a tremendous success by those attending, with the platform being utilised to mark the official launch of the Nestrans Freight Action Plan (FAP), one of the major outcomes of the Regional Transport Strategy (RTS) which was approved by ministers in July 2008. Nestrans starts process to appoint new board member

The regional transport partnership Nestrans has started the process to appoint a new board member. It is seeking to bring board numbers back up to the full complement of 12 following the resignation of former First Aberdeen managing director George Mair, now Director of the Confederation of Passenger Transport in Scotland. Nestrans has advertised for applicants for the place, one of four non-councillor members of the board.
