Around 150 keen and budding cyclists gathered together in Aberdeen on Wednesday (Wed, Sep 26) evening to discuss the development of a new group which will represent cycling interests across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Organised by Nestrans and hosted at RGU, the event, “Cycling in the North East – Moving Forward Together” brought together the area’s cycling community to give a collective voice for all cyclists. The content for the proposed next Strategic Development Plan (SDP), which sets out the vision for long-term planning development in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, has been agreed by both councils. Nestrans welcomes Network Rail improvement works

Network Rail has announced they will be undertaking signalling work on the Aberdeen to central belt line between Cove and Muchalls. These works will benefit improvements to local rail services to be introduced as part of ScotRail’s Revolution in Rail proposals and improvements to Aberdeen to central belt journeys. The works will be ongoing at Muchalls and Newtonhill between 29 September to 5 October, and then at Portlethen and Cove between 20-26 October.
