Nestrans Board Meeting – 8 December 2021

Lucy Johnston 2021

Today’s Nestrans board meeting was our final meeting of the year. We welcomed a presentation from Neil Leckie, Senior Programme Manager in the Scottish Transport Team at Energy Saving Trust on the work they do. This included how they are supporting low carbon transport projects for businesses and communities across the north east, and Scotland as a whole.
The Board also had a report on the policy work from Transport Scotland on decarbonising the Scottish transport sector, and the progression of a regional response.
In our rail update, the Board heard that the technical appraisal for Insch station accessibility has now been concluded, putting the project in the best possible position for it to progress to delivery stage.
After the significant response to the Aberdeen to Laurcencekirk Multi Modal Study, the Board had a summary of the key findings across active travel, bus, rail and road. These report findings will be used to further progress the study through the Strategic Transport Appraisal Guidance process.
