Common Wheels Car Club launches in Laurencekirk

The Aberdeen Car Club operator has branched out and now has 2 cars in the Mearns town of Laurencekirk.  A Ford Zetec and Galaxy will be based in the town allowing members to rent the cars with as little as a minute’s notice.  The project has been created by the Mearns Partnership with funding from Transport Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council.  It adds another travel option for the people of the town, who have already seen the opening of a railway station in 2009.

A car club helps people without cars to use and is a good option for those who use their cars infrequently or may need a second car sometimes.  With the annual cost of an average car now over £6,000 a year its a good option for a lot of people to get mobile without the overheads
