Nestrans, has strengthened its Board appointing a new non-Councillor Board Member following approval from Scottish Ministers.
Following a recruitment period late last year, Nestrans was pleased to appoint Mr. Ian Ross to the position, a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 40 years of experience of working on a wide range of transport and related infrastructure projects in and around the North-east.
Mr. Ross, who will join the board for his first meeting this Wednesday (18 April), is a consultant for Fairhurst Consulting Engineers, having worked for the company for a number of years, including almost 20 years as a partner. He brings to the Board his significant experience of road transport projects which vary in size, industry and sector, in addition to a strong understanding of local issues which span a range of themes covered by the Regional Transport Strategy.
The detailed strategy maps out how transport will support and deliver benefits to the area’s economy, communities, environment and quality of life up to the year 2035. With a number of key projects underway and nearing completion, Mr. Ross will work with the Board to help shape future development and delivery.
Nestrans Chair Councillor Peter Argyle said, “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the Nestrans Board. He brings with him a wealth of experience, and importantly adds to our number of non-councillor members who help promote a range of perspectives around the table. I look forward to working with Ian during his time with us.”
