New Bus Lane from Aberdeen Airport goes live

Nestrans welcomes the newly installed bus lane on Argyll Road that will go permanently live from 0900 hours on Friday 12 November 2010.  This measure has been progressed from the findings of a study funded by Nestrans and BAA Aberdeen to identify measures to improve access and egress from the airport, particularly by sustainable modes, in the short term prior to the introduction of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

The lane operates from the exit of the short stay car park to the approach to the junction of Argyll Road with Dyce Drive and can be used by both buses and taxis.  It has been designed to improve the journey times and reliability of public transport and thus encourage use of sustainable transport.
