The inaugural Nestrans Freight Forum, which took place this week in Aberdeen, was voted a tremendous success by those attending, with the platform being utilised to mark the official launch of the Nestrans Freight Action Plan (FAP), one of the major outcomes of the Regional Transport Strategy (RTS) which was approved by ministers in July 2008. The regional transport partnership Nestrans has started the process to appoint a new board member. It is seeking to bring board numbers back up to the full complement of 12 following the resignation of former First Aberdeen managing director George Mair, now Director of the Confederation of Passenger Transport in Scotland. Nestrans has advertised for applicants for the place, one of four non-councillor members of the board. Consultation on Aberdeen City Council’s Bus Information Strategy

On Monday, 11 January 2010, Aberdeen City Council launches a period of public consultation regarding the availability and quality of information on local bus services in the City.  All those who regularly travel to, from or within Aberdeen, both bus users and non-bus users, are invited to contribute and to make their views known.
