Your travel into Aberdeen is all wrapped up this Christmas!
To help make the festive season a little less stressful Getabout have created a handy public transport guide for travel in the City and Shire. The leaflet has been designed to encourage people to leave their car at home and utilise the variety of public transport options available in the north east.
One of Getabout’s members, Nestrans Director Derick Murray, said “This time of year can be stressful and we hope the information in this leaflet will encourage more people to use Park & Ride facilities, trains and buses. The direct routes take you right into the city centre so you can enjoy shopping and socialising without the hassle of looking for a parking space.”
The leaflet details the wide range of options available within the north east. Park & Ride is available by bus and rail in the City and Shire with seven railway stations and three bus park and ride sites providing plenty of free parking and frequent services from these sites. During the four weekends before Christmas Woodhill House on Westburn Road will also offer free parking for Park & Ride users.
Getabout is a joint project featuring several organisations who want to promote a healthy and sustainable transport choice for everybody travelling within the region. Getabout features members from the regional transport partnership Nestrans, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Robert Gordon University, the University of Aberdeen, NHS Grampian and The Energy Savings Trust.
