Real Time Passenger Information
Aberdeenshire CouncilImproved trip planning
Improving passenger experience
By providing passengers with accurate and timely information about bus arrival and departure times, enabling them to plan their trips more efficiently and reduce uncertainty, ultimately improving the overall public transport experience.
This project supports Aberdeenshire Council to support its low power off grid E-Paper real time passenger information sites, which consists of 68 Real-time screens across Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City. Aberdeenshire Council have received positive feedback for both Customers and Stakeholders and wish to continue to use these screen types where conventional power options are either too expensive or not an option.
Real-time passenger information improves the experience for bus passengers by allowing them to make informed decisions about when to arrive at a bus stop, reducing waiting times and delays. It also decreases anxiety and uncertainty by providing accurate arrival times, leading to a more positive and efficient public transport experience. Additionally, it offers flexibility in travel plans, making public transport a more convenient option.
