Moving Towards Net Zero
In March 2021, organisations across the North East held a joint event to showcase walking & cycling projects that are improving how we travel around the area.
The event, ‘Moving Towards Net Zero’, detailed the ongoing and upcoming active and sustainable travel projects that aim to make the area cleaner, greener, healthier, and safer.

Active Travel Action Plan
The Nestrans Active Travel Action Plan (AcTrAP) sets out a vision of creating an environment in which walking and cycling are convenient, safe, comfortable, healthy and attractive travel choices for everyday journeys.
The draft Action Plan was consulted upon in September and October 2014 and the final version was approved by the Nestrans Board at its meeting on 9th December 2014.
The final action plan is available below along with a summary of the responses received through consultation.

Aberdeen City Council has also adopted their Active Travel Action Plan. This was published in January 2017 and the full document, along with the consultation report, can be found on their website.
