    Project Aims:

Introduce a successful pool bike scheme

Create a case study to inspire others

Educate on the benefits of cycling

Contribute to increased cycling across Aberdeenshire

The project aims to introduce a successful pool bike scheme to a chosen organisation in Aberdeenshire.

Sustainable Employers will educate the organisation's staff on the benefits of cycling through the delivery of the workplace engagement day and the planning of ongoing promotional materials. Another short-term objective is to increase staff access to E-bikes, allowing this to be an alternative option for travel whether commuting or work-related journeys.

The project aims to increase the rate of cycling for work-based travel within the organisation which would mean an organisational behaviour change. It will also lower the need to take the car for short trips by providing an alternative mode of travel.

Overall, it will aim to produce a successful case study to use as a best practice example when promoting to other businesses in Aberdeenshire. It is hoped that the project will increase cycling in Aberdeenshire, the introduction of similar schemes by Aberdeenshire businesses and encourage wider behaviour change towards active travel alternatives both in and outside of the workplace.
