    Project Updates

    Quarter 4

Live Life Aberdeenshire received support and Nestrans funding to provide secure cycle storage for staff and visitors at three locations: MacDuff Marine Aquarium, Stonehaven Leisure Centre and outdoor pool and Inverurie community campus. Project was based on the successful delivery of se cure cycle storage at the Sir Arthur Grant Centre and Huntly Nordic Ski Centre and aims to give a consistent staff and visitor experience across all Live Life Aberdeenshire Venues and encourage an increase in cycle use at venues, reducing the impact of vehicles parking and enhancing the overall health and wellbeing experience. After an internal procurement process, a direct award was made to Grease Monkey as the chosen supplier with installation scheduled for March 2025. Cycling Scotland has provided additional support to Live Life Aberdeenshire, enabling cycle storage facilities to be provided at Alford Community Campus. Installation of storage is underway with the required consultation for public private partnership sites.

Alongside the delivery of the cycle storage programme Stonehaven Leisure Centre and Inverurie Community Campus have achieved Cycling Friendly Employer Award  Status, recognising the efforts to encourage cycling to these workplaces.
