About the study

Nestrans, in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council and the Cairngorms National Park Authority, has been exploring options to relocate the bus stop on Ballater’s Golf Road and looking at the potential of combining it with a mobility hub for the community. This work is being funded through the Aberdeen City Region Deal (ACRD).

What is a Mobility Hub?

Mobility hubs offer a range of transport options in one prominent location, bringing together different means of sustainable transport including buses, electric vehicle charging and secure cycle parking, as well as community facilities.

Your Feedback

The consultation was an opportunity to share further information about the study and to discuss designs that have been produced to show what could be introduced at the proposed site on Church Square. These have taken on board feedback from the community and key stakeholders.

An online survey ran from 24 November 2025 - 12 December 2025 to gather feedback from business, organisations and individuals. A public drop-in event was held on the 25th November.
