Nestrans’ Board considering next steps for Aberdeen Rapid Transit

The Nestrans Board is set to discuss advancing efforts to deliver a step-change in public transport for the North East, in order to support a more connected, inclusive, sustainable and energised region.    Technical work has been ongoing to develop a detailed appraisal of options for Aberdeen Rapid Transit (ART). Earlier today (Thursday, 20 January 2022), the Scottish Government announced the publication of their Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR2). As the Regional Transport Partnership for the North East of Scotland, Nestrans has welcomes the findings: Chair of Nestrans Councillor Sandra Macdonald said, “Along with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils, Nestrans has significantly contributed to the STPR2 process, promoting the regional interests of the North East. An ambitious project that would offer an opportunity to revitalise public transport in the North East has been welcomed by members of the Nestrans Board as they finalise the next Regional Transport Strategy.
