Public given opportunity to comment at the start of additional active travel planning for A944 corridor

People in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are being asked to take part in a consultation for a new active travel route including a segregated cycle path for the A944 corridor. The route would be between Kingswells in the city and Westhill in Aberdeenshire and the aim is to encourage more people to walk or cycle and reduce car journeys. The study is to provide recommendations to both Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council to inform the implementation of a continuous active travel route for walking and cycling between the two communities. …

Park & Ride figures on the increase

The number of cars using Park & Ride sites across the region is on the increase, according to the latest figures from Nestrans. Members of the North East’s Regional Transport Partnership heard that over 440 drivers per day are making use of bus-based Park & Ride sites in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, an increase of 6.8% on last year’s numbers. The figures come after Nestrans completed its annual patronage spot-surveys across the five bus Park & Ride sites (Bridge of Don, Ellon, Kingswells, Craibstone and Newtonhill).
