Transport Minister Jenny Gilruth today officially opened the recently complete £8million redevelopment of Aberdeen railway station. Ms Gilruth joined Alex Hynes, Scotland’s Railway Managing Director, for the event. Progress on ‘Access for All’ at Insch Station

Work to outline options for improving access to Insch railway station for people with mobility issues will get underway as funding for the project is secured by regional transport partnership Nestrans. The appraisal study, which will assess options for improving access to the south (west-bound) platform at Insch, will be commissioned later this year. A historic bench that once formed part of the original Kintore railway station is to be restored to its former glory as part of the development of the forthcoming new station. Major work to double-track railway between Aberdeen and Dyce set to begin

Network Rail engineers will be working around-the-clock from mid-May to deliver a multi-million-pound upgrade to the railway between Aberdeen and Dyce. From May 12 to August 20 2018, the line between Aberdeen and Dyce will be closed to allow engineers to double the track through the area and carryout bridge upgrades and signalling enhancements.
