North-east cycling conference puts new partnership into gear

Around 150 keen and budding cyclists gathered together in Aberdeen on Wednesday (Wed, Sep 26) evening to discuss the development of a new group which will represent cycling interests across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Organised by Nestrans and hosted at RGU, the event, “Cycling in the North East – Moving Forward Together” brought together the area’s cycling community to give a collective voice for all cyclists. A new conference which seeks to generate a collective voice for cyclists in the North-east is set to take place next month. The inaugural event, hosted by regional transport partnership Nestrans, will discuss the development of a new group that will represent and give platform to a shared voice for cycling interests across the area. RGU working with Nestrans to improve cycling in the North-east

Researchers from Robert Gordon University (RGU) are working with Nestrans, the Aberdeen City and Shire Transport Partnership, in a bid to improve the experience for cyclists in the North-east. The two organisations have created a survey which will collect the opinions, experiences and ideas of cyclists in the area which will then be compiled in a report to help shape policy and create a positive cycling culture in the City and Shire.
