Community groups, charities and social enterprises that wish to develop sustainable travel projects are being encouraged to apply for new funding. Regional Transport Partnership, Nestrans, has launched a new Community Sustainable Travel Grant. The scheme makes funding available for projects across the North East that support or encourage active and sustainable travel. Around seventy local cyclists attended an interesting and informative event at Robert Gordon University, Garthdee, Aberdeen on the evening of Monday 2nd September. The event, which was called ‘Cycling in the North East – Collisions, Compensation & Civil Law’ was jointly organised by Cycle Law Scotland and Grampian Cycle Partnership in an effort to help provide advice and information for those interested in cycling across the north east. RGU working with Nestrans to improve cycling in the North-east

Researchers from Robert Gordon University (RGU) are working with Nestrans, the Aberdeen City and Shire Transport Partnership, in a bid to improve the experience for cyclists in the North-east. The two organisations have created a survey which will collect the opinions, experiences and ideas of cyclists in the area which will then be compiled in a report to help shape policy and create a positive cycling culture in the City and Shire. Apply Now for Greener Travel Funding

The Nestrans Sustainable Travel Grant Scheme (STGS) is now open for funding applications from organisations across the north east to help support active and ‘greener’ travel initiatives. Whether for increasing travel to work by public transport, supporting cycling and walking or investigating the use of low emission vehicles, the STGS could provide a grant to assist in funding such plans.
